Advocating for Participation and Human Rights Consciousness in Budgeting
Center for Budgetary Governance Advocacy is a Local CSO established in 2021 to advocate for robust budgetary governance in governmental organizations and CSOs which in turn contributes to the respect of human and democratic rights and sustainable development.
OUR STORY
Once upon a time, three junior accounting and finance lecturers gathered in a college cafeteria. As they discussed the challenges in government and non-profit sectors, they realized the pressing need for change. They discovered that budgeting was plagued by issues such as staff inadequacies, resource scarcity, and a lack of transparency. Determined to make a difference, they established the Center for Budgetary Governance Advocacy in February 2021. Despite facing internal challenges, their passion remained unwavering. In late 2023, they received vital technical support from the Civil Society Resource Center, reigniting their mission. Today, the Center for Budgetary Governance Advocacy proudly advocates for transparent, participatory, and decentralized budgetary governance, goal alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, trust building between the people and the government, and community empowerment in development planning. This is a story of resilience, collaboration, and the belief in a better future. The journey continues as they work towards a society where budgetary governance and human rights consciousness flourish.
